Asia, manufacturing economies and their fairgrounds

Asia combines the manufacturing base of China, the engineering industries of Japan and India, and the economies of Southeast Asia. Its trade fairs follow the supply chains: buyers and suppliers meet in port and factory cities.

Trade fairs in Asia are tied to manufacturing and logistics. China assembles a large share of the world's machinery, electronics and consumer goods, and Shanghai and Shenzhen host international exhibitions. In Shenzhen, China Hi-Tech Fair in November presents technology products and scientific results, while in Shanghai bauma CHINA covers construction and mining machinery and FHC Shanghai Global Food Trade Show serves the food and beverage trade. EP Shanghai in December covers the whole electric power chain, from transmission to distribution, and Shenzhen also hosts the China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Supply Chain Fair in December, an annual trade fair for the logistics and supply chain sector.

Japan and India bring different strengths. Tokyo hosts exhibitions at Tokyo Big Sight, and Japan is associated with precision engineering, robotics and automotive. India is a large domestic market with a growing industrial base, and Mumbai hosts ACETECH addresses architecture and building materials.

Southeast Asia is the other pole of growth. Thailand is a regional manufacturing center for automotive and electronics, with Bangkok hosting METALEX for machine tools and metalworking technologies. Vietnam has become a production base for electronics and textiles, and Singapore is a financial and logistics hub. Hong Kong hosts Cosmoprof Asia for the beauty industry.

The sector pages for industry and manufacturing and technology list the fairs in these fields across the continent.
