Industry and manufacturing trade fairs

Industry fairs are where machines, components and materials change hands. They bring manufacturers, subcontractors and technical buyers together around automation, machine tools, plastics and electronics.

The sector covers manufacturing, machinery, machine tools, automation and robotics, subcontracting, materials, plastics and rubber, chemicals, metalworking and electronics manufacturing. Exhibitors come to launch equipment, sign distributors and present technical updates. Visitors are engineers, purchasing managers and plant owners who compare suppliers in one hall. Neighboring fields such as energy and environment and technology have their own sectors, while packaging and printing are covered separately.

The fair calendar mixes large international shows, which draw suppliers from many countries, with regional shows that serve a national or neighboring market. Machine tool and metalworking shows such as METALEX in Bangkok bring in technology providers from many countries, and some events run every two years.

In Asia, southern China is an industrial region. Shenzhen hosts the China Hi-Tech Fair and Industrial Tech World Asia, and Shanghai stages EP Shanghai for the power industry chain. The DMP Greater Bay Area Industrial Expo, also in Shenzhen, focuses on the machinery industry and related manufacturing technologies. The Shenzhen fairs fall in October and November. Southeast Asia follows with METALEX in Bangkok for machine tools and metalworking, and Manufacturing Indonesia in Jakarta for machinery and supplies.

In Europe, electronica in Munich presents the electronics industry as a whole every two years and is organized by Messe München. Plast Eurasia in Istanbul is an annual plastics fair, while Madrid and Warsaw also host industrial shows.
