Wedding shows, where couples plan their day

Wedding shows are consumer fairs where engaged couples meet the suppliers behind a ceremony and reception. Planners, venues, caterers, photographers and dressmakers exhibit, usually over a weekend.

The sector covers wedding and bridal shows, wedding planning, and private celebrations and party planning for the general public. Most visitors are engaged couples and wedding planners. The business events industry is a different field and sits under travel and tourism. Bridal wear and styling connect it to fashion, beauty and luxury. For exhibitors, a wedding fair is a direct route to couples in the middle of planning; for visitors, it brings many suppliers together in a single visit.

Italy hosts several wedding fairs. RomaSposa in Rome is an international wedding fair open to couples, planners and professionals, and Riso e Confetti in Pordenone is held once a year and organized by Pordenone Fiere. Cagliari Sposi Expo serves couples in Sardinia who are planning their ceremony and reception.

Spain also hosts wedding fairs. Fiesta y Boda in Valencia covers weddings, ceremonies and celebrations of all kinds, and Spacioboda Barcelona in Barcelona introduces couples to the suppliers they need. A sister event, Spacioboda Bilbao, takes the same format to the Basque Country.

Belgium, Germany and Poland have similar fairs. Salon du Mariage de Liège and Salon du Mariage de Mons are fairs for couples preparing their ceremony and reception in Belgium, the first lasting two days, HOCHZEITSTAGE Münster gives engaged couples an overview of wedding planning in one weekend, and ONA&ON in Lublin does the same in Poland.
