Agriculture fairs, where machines and crops meet

Agriculture fairs bring farmers, breeders and equipment makers together around machinery, livestock, crops, horticulture and forestry. Some are broad national events, while others focus on a single product such as apples, poultry or flowers.

The sector covers farming, livestock, agricultural machinery, crops, horticulture, forestry and fisheries upstream of food processing. Processed food and drink belong to the neighboring Food & Hospitality and Wine & Beverages pages, and general machinery makers appear under Industry & Manufacturing. Exhibitors at agricultural fairs come to present machines, seeds, feed, animal health products and services, and visitors come to compare equipment and meet distributors.

Fairs in this sector range from large international machinery exhibitions to specialized events for a single product. In Italy, EIMA International in Bologna is an exhibition of agricultural and gardening machinery, Interpoma in Bolzano concentrates on the apple sector and Zootecniche Cremona covers livestock and agriculture. Italy hosts all three.

Elsewhere in Europe, AGRARIA in Wels covers agriculture, indoor mechanization and forestry, SALTEX in Birmingham serves grounds management, and IFTF in Amsterdam is a business-only floriculture exhibition. The Ptak Warsaw Expo is a fairground in Warsaw, Poland, and the NEC is a venue in Birmingham.

Outside Europe, specialist events follow local production. The China Fisheries & Seafood Expo in Qingdao is an international seafood exhibition, Poultry India Expo in Hyderabad covers the poultry value chain and Agri-Trade Equipment Expo in Red Deer serves farmers and ranchers. Agro Pack & Food Iraq in Erbil is a business exhibition for the food, beverage, packaging and agriculture industries, and Dubai and Bucharest also have fairgrounds that host agricultural events.
