Mobility fairs, from road to runway to harbor

Mobility and transport fairs cover everything that moves goods and people: vehicles and their aftermarket, aerospace, rail, shipping, boats and logistics. Most are trade events where suppliers meet manufacturers, fleet operators and maintenance teams.

The sector includes automotive and motorcycles, aerospace, rail, maritime and boats, logistics, public transport and the aftermarket. Exhibitors come to present parts, systems and services, and visitors are buyers, workshop owners, fleet managers and engineers. It overlaps with industry wherever machinery is concerned. A few shows are open to enthusiasts, but the majority are for professionals, and many pair the exhibition with a conference.

The automotive world runs on supplier and aftermarket fairs. AAPEX in Las Vegas is held every November for the aftermarket, IZB in Wolfsburg is a supplier fair aimed at the automotive industry, and Essen Motor Show addresses car enthusiasts. Novi in Michigan and Hanoi also host mobility shows at their exhibition centers.

Air and sea have their own fair circuits. MRO Europe in Amsterdam is a conference and exhibition for the commercial aviation aftermarket, International WorkBoat Show in New Orleans serves the commercial marine industry, and Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is an annual in-water boat show. In Tangerang, Indo Defence Expo & Forum joins aerospace, maritime and security industries.

Logistics has its own fairs. China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Supply Chain Fair takes place in Shenzhen, and TransLogistica Poland is held in Warsaw. The sector is close to energy and environment, industry and leisure, where electric mobility, machinery and recreational vehicles also appear.
