Trade fairs in Shanghai

Shanghai is China's financial center and a major port city. Its trade fairs span machinery, energy, food and wine, and design, and are held at two large exhibition centers.

Shanghai combines a financial district, a major container port and two international airports, Pudong and Hongqiao. Consumer events include QSE Overseas Property, Immigration and Study Expo, aimed at Chinese families planning a life abroad.

Most shows are held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong, or at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, which was built on the site of the world exposition. Industry and manufacturing fairs include bauma CHINA covers construction and mining machinery in November, MTM Expo in December the steel and metallurgical chain, and EP Shanghai the electric power industry from transmission to distribution.

Food, drink and water form a second group. FHC Shanghai Global Food Trade Show in November brings domestic and international suppliers together in food and beverage, ProWine Shanghai is a trade fair for wine and spirits, and Aquatech China, held in October, is an annual trade exhibition devoted entirely to water technology. Textiles are represented by Functional Textiles Shanghai, a trade fair for functional fabrics and accessories used in sportswear and outdoor gear.

Home and gift products have China Gifts Home Expo Shanghai in November, and technology has, in December, the International Data Center & Cloud Computing Industry Expo. The Pearl River Delta and its electronics shows lie farther south, and the whole country is covered on the China page.
