Canada, from Montreal to the prairies

Canada is a trade fair destination organized around a few large cities and a network of regional centers. Montreal and Toronto are its main exhibition cities, while Alberta adds agricultural shows tied to the farming economy.

Canada is a federation of ten provinces and three territories, with a diversified economy built on natural resources, agriculture, manufacturing, finance and services, and it is closely tied to the United States through trade. Two languages shape its event scene: French in Quebec and English across most other provinces. Major airports serve Toronto and Montreal.

Montreal is a major exhibition city of Quebec. Its Palais des congrès and the Grand Quay at the Port of Montreal host the manufacturing show ADM Montréal, the tasting event La Grande Dégustation de Montréal and the consumer travel fair Salon International Tourisme Voyages. In Quebec City, the ExpoCité fairgrounds receive the Salon des artisans de Québec, a craft fair held in the weeks before the holiday season.

Toronto, the capital of Ontario and a major financial center, uses the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for business and consumer shows alike. The craft market One Of A Kind Show, the building industry event The Buildings Show, the chocolate and pastry show Salon du Chocolat Toronto and the art fair Art Toronto show how varied the program is.

Beyond the two main cities, farming regions have their own fairs. Agri-Trade Equipment Expo in Red Deer, Alberta, gathers farmers, ranchers and agribusiness around machinery and services, and Edmonton has the Edmonton Expo Centre. British Columbia lies on the Pacific side of the country.
