Masovia, the region built around Warsaw

Masovia is the central Polish region where the national capital stands, and its trade fair life is concentrated in Warsaw. Industry, logistics, construction and energy dominate the calendar, which runs mostly from autumn to early spring on a handful of exhibition grounds.

Masovia lies in the middle of Poland and draws its administrative and economic weight from Warsaw, the seat of the government, the central institutions and many company headquarters. The region is crossed by the Vistula, and the capital is a road and rail junction between Western Europe, the Baltic coast and the markets to the east. Nearly all of the region's exhibition activity takes place in Warsaw, so a visit to Masovia is in practice a visit to the capital.

The calendar is industrial in character. Warsaw Industry Week covers machinery, equipment and production technology, and PLASTECNICA Expo addresses polymers and plastics processing, from raw materials to recycling. Transport and supply chains are the subject of TransLogistica Poland, while FireProtection Expo deals with detection, extinguishing and passive protection in modern buildings.

Energy and mobility form a second group of shows. Decarbonisation Expo Poland looks at zero emissions and sustainable energy management, and FUEL STATION Expo and CAR-WASH Tech Expo follow the change under way in fuel retail and professional vehicle care. Most of these events are held in November and December.

Ptak Warsaw Expo hosts many of the region's fairs, with EXPO XXI Warsaw and Arena COS Torwar taking a smaller share. Retail suppliers, chains and independent shops meet at RetailShow, and the sports and fitness public is addressed by Go Active Show, which is open to a wider audience than the trade-only events around it.
